THE MICROMETER DIASCOPE

A recurring problem with virtually all high-speed digital cameras is the exact back-focus distance between the camera's lens-mount and the sensor's image plane. This condition exists because currently, the camera manufacturers are not required to meet specific industry standards. The Micrometer Diascope solves this problem. The Diascope is an easy to use instrument that attaches to a camera's lens plate. It contains the following elements: 1) a reticule target 2) an LED light source 3) internal optics and 4) a precise optical micrometer with measurement accuracy greater than 0.001" or 0.025mm. The Diascope currently adapts to: DRS, Redlake, Vision Research (Phantom), Weinberger cameras plus Nikon-F and C-Mounts. PL and other mounts will follow as needed. Note that a precision stainless steel (black) lens plate is custom designed to permanently replaces each of the standard lens plates supplied with the above cameras. This plate accepts Nikon-F mount, Avatar 10.5mm Hi-g lens and all C-Mount lenses. A separate PL mount is also available. |
