In response to user demands VIC is please to introduce a new and larger high intensity LED array. This model has a 6 x 8 array of 48-high-brightness white or red LEDs, which doubles the number of LEDs provided with our  4 x 6 array.  This model is also suitable for some Hi-g applications.

In addition to more LEDs, this array is divided into four discrete 2 x 6 LED columns adjustable in the horizontal axis.  Adjustment is ±4°, which allows users the flexibility of concentrating the light or expanding the beam to double the horizontal coverage.

Typical performance in the normal drive current selection is 8,500 foot-candles or 91,400 lux at a lamp to subject distance of 24 inches, covering an area of 12 inches.   Adjusting the horizontal beam to 20-inches, at the same distance, provides 5,100 foot-candles or 54,876 lux. 

Red LEDs double the luminous output of white LED's and are ideal for monochrome cameras which have 2X greater sensitivity than color cameras.  The net result is a 3 f/stop gain in performance.

The Modeling mode provides 75% less light than the normal operating mode.  Its purpose is to reduce illumination level during camera setup and alignment functions.  In addition,  the modeling mode can be left ON with no-time limit restriction.  The normal operating mode has an ON-time limitation of 10-minutes.

Overdriving the LED's provide an intensity increase of 30%, when the controller is switched from normal to maximum mode.  However; there is an operating Time Limit of two minutes in this maximum drive current mode.
